September 2008

Dear Colorado Daughters,

It is hard to believe Continental Congress is past and fall is almost here. Chapters are beginning their meetings again, and the Fall Board of Management is rapidly approaching.

The Master Questionnaire has been posted on the national Members’ Web Site and a link to it is on this CO Members’ site under the Forms link. Please make sure you are using the latest state forms which are posted on this site. Also, be sure to always use the latest national forms by downloading them from the national Members’ Web Site http://members.dar.org.

The annual dues time is upon us. Our members are invaluable. Let’s be diligent letting each member know how important they are to our society. Membership is critical for our existence: recruit new members, retain existing members, and reactivate those members that have resigned.

You have many resources in our state for support. Membership Chairman Marcy Kimminau has the Rope In Team ready to help with prospectives and provide workshops. Webmaster Regina Fallace is available to help with chapter web sites. The DAR Speakers Staff and Correspondent DAR Museum Docents will be pleased to do a program for your chapter. You can contact the chairmen for more information. On this site, the State Treasurer Tina Dudley has provided examples of an annual chapter treasurer’s report, instructions for internal audit, and other state forms and information.

New features and enhancements are continually being added to national’s e-Membership Web site. Click on the left link Announcements to review the updates to the site. It is vitally important that our members’ personal information (address, phone number, email address) is kept current in e-Membership. This is the data used by the National Society for contacting us. If your chapter registrar is not able to keep the information current, perhaps the chapter regent and/or treasurer can assist her.

This officer has a laptop and is willing to travel to work with individuals or small groups to help with any aspect of computers, email and the Internet. Just send an email to darcolo@aol.com or call 719-531-5746.

We’re all looking forward to another successful year and moving forward with technology. This officer hopes to see many of you in Montrose on Sept 27th.
